Utställning: En dag på Kummelholmen i Skärholmen #1 Bella Rune

Activation of various types takes place every full hour.
Bella Rune describes her artistic practice.
“My work explores the sensual and conceptual aspects of spatial and material relationships. I am deeply fascinated by how textile techniques—such as weaving, braiding, and embroidery—can be translated into other materials and media. By expanding the language of textile logic beyond its traditional boundaries, I create sculptures and installations that challenge our perceptions of materiality, the body, and presence.
In my art, the handmade meets the digital, the intimate intersects with the public. I often work with three-dimensional objects that change depending on the viewer’s movement and perspective. The dynamic dialogue between the artwork, the space, and the individual is central—my pieces are not merely objects to observe but physical experiences that invite active interaction.
I draw inspiration from the tactile poetry of everyday life and the invisible threads that bind us together—socially, culturally, and emotionally. My work plays with boundaries: between material and immaterial, between the body and its surroundings, between craft and technology. It is within these borderlands that I find space for the unexpected, the intuitive, and the subversive.”
For me, art is an opportunity to weave new narratives about our time, our place, and our humanity.
A Day at Kummelholmen is a series of temporary exhibitions where art engages with Kummelholmen’s unique environment. Each exhibition lasts one day, inviting artists to showcase site-specific works or performances created for the present moment. The project aims to establish a platform for artistic experimentation and exploration, highlighting the artist’s current questions and processes. This format enables quick responses to contemporary issues, making each occasion distinctive. The audience is invited to an intense, ephemeral art experience where works and performances challenge traditional art formats. The series promotes innovation and experimentation, with its transient and temporary nature reflecting contemporary discussions about change, uncertainty, and swift societal reactions. A Day at Kummelholmen provides a platform for artistic experimentation, appealing to a wide audience and striving to engage local residents and national and international visitors.
